Choose Begin New Journey. If a save exists, Continue Journey restores it.
Q/E northwest/northeast, A/D west/east, Z/C southwest/southeast. Click/tap the on-screen arrows as an alternative.
Use Enter or F to interact with towns and locations. Space opens quests, T opens S.P.E.C.I.A.L., and S saves.
Use Attack, Spell, Item, Defend, Inspect, or Flee. Keyboard shortcuts 1-6 select those actions. Keep HP above zero and use potions, healing, or camping between encounters.
Attributes improve through use. Quests award gold, attribute progress, and sometimes equipment. Explore cities and dungeons to expand your options.
Move with the same hex controls. Bump enemies to fight, find keys for locked doors, open chests, and use stairs to change levels.
The game stores state in local browser storage and autosaves. Press S for a manual save. Starting a new journey replaces the active journey after play begins.
World map: Press M or select MAP to review explored territory and discovered landmarks.
Travel Intel: The HUD shows your terrain, coordinates, and nearest discovered landmark. Press L or LOAD to restore the last save.
Press B or choose CODEX to view exploration milestones, discovered landmarks, and creatures you have encountered or defeated. Mapping 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% of Britannia grants GP rewards.
Open the world map with M and click any discovered town, castle, or dungeon marker to set it as your waypoint. The Travel Intel panel shows distance and general bearing. A cyan dashed line appears on the world map. Press W to clear the waypoint.
During combat use 4 or DEFEND to reduce the next incoming strike and recover a small amount of AP. Use 5 or INSPECT to study the enemy without consuming a combat turn; it reveals HP, attack, defense, threat level, and tactical advice. Flee is now shortcut 6.
Press H or choose AWARDS to view persistent achievements. Exploration, quests, combat victories, wealth, and dungeon depth can unlock rewards.

The Quest Log now contains a dedicated Main Campaign panel. Chapter I asks you to complete any two regional quests. Chapter II requires five dungeon victories and reaching dungeon level 3. Chapter III sends you after a Dragon. Campaign milestones award gold and powerful equipment, and defeating the Dragon completes the main story while leaving Britannia open for continued exploration.
Speak with each town's named NPC to hear local rumors. Completing quests for a town increases reputation from Stranger through Known and Trusted to Revered. Higher reputation reduces prices for local services.
The Avatar is shown as an animated stick figure. Drag the main exploration map to pan, use the mouse wheel or the −/+ controls to zoom, and choose CENTER to return to the Avatar.
Each settlement now contains three named NPCs. Speak with them and choose About Town, Ask for Rumors, or Ask About Work. At KNOWN reputation, the town unlocks a second local contract. KNOWN and TRUSTED reputation can also reveal special town stock. NPCs react differently as your reputation rises and after the main campaign is completed.
The main Britannia map fills the gameplay viewport. Short-click or tap a passable destination hex to plot a route. The Avatar moves deliberately one hex at a time. Each step completes before the next begins, and normal encounter checks run along the way. If combat begins, the remaining route is cancelled at that hex.
Map controls: short click/tap selects travel, drag pans, mouse wheel or the +/- controls zoom, CENTER recenters, and STOP cancels the current route. Keyboard hex movement remains available as a fallback.
Interface: The map fills the entire gameplay viewport. The left sidebar contains character and travel information; the right sidebar contains travel and game controls.
Click or tap a world hex to travel. In dungeons, click or tap a visible floor hex to path toward it. Dungeon encounters open a Fight/Retreat popup and use the same full combat screen as overworld encounters.
Use the right-sidebar Audio and Speech buttons to toggle procedural sound and text-to-speech. Voice cycles through browser-installed voices; Read Info speaks the current location and objective.
