Super Star Trek

Grand Scale Edition — LCARS Interface | Tutorial & Command Reference

1. Starting a Mission

The mission selection screen appears when the game loads. Choose by difficulty:

Start with Patrol Sweep — no Borg or Dominion, generous time, plenty of starbases.

2. LCARS Interface

The screen uses the LCARS (Library Computer Access and Retrieval System) interface from Starfleet vessels.

3. Navigation

Warp between quadrants

  1. Set the Warp slider (1–9) in the orange nav bar at the top.
  2. Click any quadrant in the LRS grid or open 🌌 Galaxy for the fullscreen map.
  3. After arrival, SRS and LRS run automatically.

Impulse move within a sector

Click any empty square in the sector grid. Costs a small amount of energy.

Quick navigation

4. Combat

Phasers

Click Phasers. A slider appears — set energy and click FIRE. Energy is divided among all visible enemies. Power falls off with distance.

Borg adaptation: Each phaser hit on the same Borg cube is 25% less effective than the last. Switch to torpedoes after 2–3 hits.

Torpedoes

Click Torpedo. Choose mode:

Torpedoes ignore distance and Borg adaptation. Always effective. Cloaked Romulans can be hit by torpedoes.

Shields

Click Shields. Drag slider to set energy level. Shields below 50 allow enemy boarding. Scotty auto-raises shields when under attack if the generator is undamaged.

5. Starbases and Docking

Starbases appear as ⬡ in the sector. Move the Enterprise adjacent to one — docking is automatic. Full restoration of energy, torpedoes, crew, all damage, and boarders. Use → Nearest Base to navigate there quickly.

6. Boarding Parties

When shields are below 50 and an enemy is within 2 squares, they may board.

RaceBoarding Effect
KlingonHull damage each turn
RomulanSabotage 2 ship systems
BorgAssimilate crew — boarding party grows
FerengiSteal energy from ship
DominionSeize weapon control for 2 turns

Click Repel Boarders to engage security teams. May need multiple uses. Crew at zero = ship lost.

7. Emergency Systems

Emergency Repair

Click Emerg Repair. Select the damaged system from the picker. Cost: 150 + (damage × 50) energy. Reduces damage by 1–2 turns. Enemies may attack during repair.

Emergency Tug

Click Emerg Tug. The tug is hailed by subspace radio (works from anywhere, even with destroyed warp engines). Arrives in 2–5 stardates and tows you to the nearest starbase. One use per mission.

8. Probes

Click Probe (5) — button pulses cyan. Click any quadrant on LRS or Galaxy Map to launch. Costs 50 energy. Reports enemy counts, starbase, black holes, and freighters without warping. 5 probes per mission.
