STEEL FURY — Tutorial

Steel Fury is a turn-based hex wargame inspired by SSI's Steel Panthers. You command the blue force against an AI enemy. This tutorial covers everything you need to fight your first battle.

How to begin

When the game loads, a mission picker appears. Choose one of the handcrafted scenarios (three World War II, three Modern/Gulf) or a Random Battle for either era. A help screen opens next — press ? at any time to see it again. Click any of your blue counters to select it and begin. (Sound starts after your first click, per browser policy.)

Turn order

Play alternates: your whole force acts, then you press End Turn and the AI acts. At the end of each full turn, objective hexes score Victory Points for whoever holds them, then a new turn begins and leaders attempt to rally suppressed units.

Movement

Select a unit and choose Move. Reachable hexes are shaded blue; hover to preview the path and click to move there. Each terrain type costs movement points and offers different cover — woods, towns, bocage and hills are slow but protective; roads are fast; water is impassable. A unit may both move and fire in the same turn, but firing after moving is less accurate for vehicles.

Combat

Winning and losing

When the turn limit is reached, the side with the most Victory Points wins (VP come from kills and from holding the three objective hexes each turn). Destroying the entire enemy force wins immediately; losing your entire force is a defeat.

Saving and restarting

Steel Fury plays one self-contained battle at a time and does not save progress. To start over, press New Battle on the result screen (or reload) and pick another mission.
