Eastern Front tactical armored combat โ a Tronsoft Games recreation.
You command a battlegroup of armor, guns, and infantry. Each unit may Move or Fire once per turn. Seize and hold the starred objectives; the attacker must control the required number when time runs out.
Click one of your units (bright border), then choose Move (blue hexes show where it can go) or Fire (red hexes show what it can hit). Click a highlighted hex to act. After a unit acts, selection advances to the next unit awaiting orders. The Orders Remaining counter shows how much of your force still needs attention. Use Prev/Next, Center, or Skip to manage your force. Press End Turn when finished โ the AI then moves.
Before a shot is committed, a Combat Preview shows participating units, attack strength, defense, terrain and final odds. When you fire on a target, every eligible un-acted unit that can see and reach it joins the shot โ concentrate your guns to raise the odds. Odds compare total attack strength to the target's defense; cover (woods, town, hills) shifts the odds toward the defender. Results: โ no effect, D dispersed (flipped, recovers next turn), X eliminated. A dispersed unit hit again is destroyed.
AP (armor-piercing) is used against armored targets; HE against soft targets. Infantry can barely scratch heavy tanks โ bring the right weapon. Artillery may fire indirectly over blocking terrain if a friendly unit spots the target (shown as a dashed line).
Tip: drag to pan, scroll or pinch to zoom, and use Fit to recentre. The Victory Tracker shows the exact objective, live progress, current advantage, and turns remaining. The Tactical Map in the lower-left shows the entire battlefield, unit positions, objectives, and your current viewport. Click it to jump to another sector. Your game auto-saves between turns.
