  in the public domain worldwide. Tronsoft Games claims no rights of any kind
  in the novel, in its characters, or in its plot, and asserts no exclusivity
  over any other adaptation of it by anybody else.

WHAT IS OWNED HERE

  The arrangement of the novel into 20 rooms and five acts, the puzzle
  structure, the four-name mechanic, the 110 story rules, the 10,082
  words of game text, the artwork, the sound cues, the adapter and stylesheet
  in js/game.js, js/sound.js and css/monte-cristo.css, and this package

PERMITTED USE

  This game is licensed for personal play through the Tronsoft Games Portal.
  Portal subscribers may play it in a web browser as provided by the portal.

MODIFICATION

  The game files may not be modified or used to create derivative works
  without written permission. This restriction does not and cannot apply to
