How to Play Checkers
- Men move diagonally forward one square. Kings move diagonally in both directions.
- Captures are mandatory. Jump over an adjacent opponent into an empty square.
- Multi-jumps are completed as one move and are animated one jump at a time.
- A man that reaches the far row becomes a king and its move ends under American rules.
- You win when your opponent has no legal move. Forty full moves without a capture is a draw.
Hint: shows the suggested origin, destination, and numbered route for multi-jumps. Flip Board rotates the view without changing game state. Replay reviews any completed move. Analysis lets you explore hypothetical continuations without changing the saved game. Games can also be exported/imported as validated JSON. Use the arrow keys to move board focus, Enter/Space to act, Escape to clear selection, H for Hint, U for Undo, and F to flip the board. Presets, fullscreen, high contrast, reduced motion, and optional spoken move announcements are available from the controls.
