Hellwig's Wargame 1.0.0 — 2026-07-31

First release.

- A war game in the manner of Hellwig's of 1780, on a 24 by 18 hex field
at 150 metres to the hex.
- The board is laid from 9 terrain squares drawn at random from a set of 16,
each of which may be laid either way round, so the country is new every
action.
- 14 pieces a side across 8 arms of service, each moving and fighting
after its own fashion.
- 8 orders a turn, spent alternately by the two armies, with the initiative
changing hands each turn.
- No dice: every attack is settled by calculation and the working is printed
in a ledger beside the board. Hovering an enemy prints the sum before you
commit to the attack.
- Three ways to win: storm the enemy fortress, break his army by taking 5
pieces, or hold the better of the field at nightfall.
- Three calibres of opponent, and an observer mode in which two machines play.
- The action is saved after every order and can be resumed.
