What’s new in Groundbreak v1.17.0
GROUNDBREAK
Changelog
VERSION 1.17.0 - September 13, 2026
Added Live Closing Field to Settlement Watch. Every projected office is now
listed by rank and final fortune, with the player highlighted and each rival's
exact lead or deficit shown relative to the player. The field updates with the
certificate basket and becomes a Final Field after settlement.
VERSION 1.16.0 - September 13, 2026
Added Closing Adviser behavior to the right-side Staff Adviser. When settlement
is callable, it now uses the exhaustive Closing Basket Scan, reports the best
basket and can fill that selection into the certificate controls. It handles a
buy-nothing optimum by clearing the basket. Purchases and settlement still
require their normal confirmations.
VERSION 1.15.0 - September 13, 2026
Added Closing Basket Scan to Settlement Watch. During a callable certificate
phase it evaluates every legal basket, identifies the highest final fortune and
reports its cost, rank and value against the current selection. Deterministic
tie-breaking prefers fewer certificates and lower cost when outcomes match. The
scan remains informational and cannot alter the basket or live position.
VERSION 1.14.0 - September 13, 2026
Added Basket Impact to the callable-finish forecast. During certificate
selection, Settlement Watch now compares the chosen basket with buying nothing,
showing rank before and after, exact final-fortune change and holder-bonus gain.
Selections with no settlement premium are identified plainly. The comparison
updates live and remains read-only.
VERSION 1.13.0 - September 13, 2026
Added Endgame Exposure to Settlement Watch. Once a finish is callable, the
forecast now separates projected fortune into remaining cash, certificate
liquidation and final holder bonuses, visualizes their proportions and names
the player's largest syndicate exposure. The components reconcile to the final
projection and update with the selected basket without mutating the game.
VERSION 1.12.0 - September 13, 2026
Added Settlement Watch to the left information rail. It tracks the 38-lot and
all-protected finish routes independently, states the remaining thresholds and
previews the player's final rank and fortune once settlement is callable. The
read-only projection includes a currently selected certificate basket without
changing funds, logs, records, the board or opponent randomness.
VERSION 1.11.0 - September 13, 2026
Added a read-only Comparative Assay to the left information rail. During each
human lot phase it ranks the three strongest legal tickets, repeats their quoted
effects, visualizes relative standing and labels the top-two recommendation gap.
Blocked lots are counted but excluded. The deterministic order matches the Staff
adviser without selecting a move or consuming opponent randomness.
VERSION 1.10.0 - September 13, 2026
Added an interactive Merger Site Report to the left information rail. Selecting
a marked merger contact now shows the affected syndicates, sizes, protection,
the player's holdings, current holder prizes, projected combined size and either
the fixed survivor or tied-survivor payout range. Protected collisions explain
why the site is blocked. The overlay no longer treats sealed charter sites as
merger contacts.
VERSION 1.9.0 - September 13, 2026
Added a persistent Planning Overlay to the right control rail. It can mark every
held lot by consequence or reveal all current merger contacts directly on the
grid, using color plus O/C/G/M/× symbols that remain readable in high contrast
and track the board through pan and zoom. The V key cycles its three modes.
VERSION 1.8.0 - September 13, 2026
Added Challenge Replay. Every live city now displays its seed, office count and
opposition level, can copy those settings in a shareable address, and can restart
the exact setup from the settlement report. Challenge URLs reproduce the initial
board, draw order and deterministic computer-office random sequence.
VERSION 1.7.0 - September 13, 2026
Added Reconsider Turn to the right control rail and U key. A one-level checkpoint
restores the exact start of the current human turn, including board, funds,
certificates, logs, metrics and opponent random state. It closes when the player
finishes the certificate phase and the next office begins.
VERSION 1.6.0 - September 13, 2026
Added a persistent Office Record to the left information rail and final report.
It tracks settlements, victories and win rate, podium finishes, average rank,
best final fortune and the latest result. Finished autosaves retain a completion
marker so reopening the same settled city cannot inflate the record.
VERSION 1.5.0 - September 13, 2026
Added a Development Outlook to the left information rail. It tracks each active
syndicate's progress toward protection, counts unplayed lots that would cause a
merger now, and marks merger contacts already present in the player's assay
strip. Immediate opportunities sort first. Discards and illegal protected joins
are excluded, while the underlying rules and saved positions remain unchanged.
VERSION 1.4.0 - September 13, 2026
Added a live city minimap to the right-side View card. It mirrors developed lots
and syndicate identity, outlines the visible board area, and recenters the main
grid by click or drag while zoomed. Focused arrow-key navigation provides the
same control from the keyboard. Pan, zoom, full screen and game rules are intact.
VERSION 1.3.1 - September 13, 2026
Added full-screen play from the right-side View card and F key. The complete
three-column game shell expands together, the control reports its live state,
and pan, zoom and high contrast remain available. Native Escape exits normally;
blocked portal access produces a notice without interrupting the game.
VERSION 1.3.0 - September 13, 2026
Added a final settlement report with full rankings, the player's finish and
margin, city growth totals, charters, mergers, certificate purchases, merger
bonuses and closing bonuses. The report can close back to the finished grid or
open a new game. Activity totals now persist with autosaves.
VERSION 1.2.1 - September 13, 2026
Added a persistent high-contrast display mode from the View card or C key. It
strengthens interface boundaries, outlines color chips, and redraws the canvas
with a black-on-white drafting ground, black lot boundaries and a distinct
six-color syndicate palette. Syndicate initials preserve non-color identification.
VERSION 1.2.0 - September 13, 2026
Added an optional Staff adviser to the right control rail. It recommends a
legal lot during placement or a value-based certificate basket during buying,
with a concise explanation and cost. Selecting advice fills the choice but
never completes an action. Its deterministic calculation works on a cloned
state and cannot change the board or the opponents' random stream.
VERSION 1.1.1 - September 13, 2026
Made the existing decision-point autosave explicit, visible and safer. The
purse card now reports save status and time; Keep writes an immediate checkpoint.
Save format 2 validates structure and an integrity fingerprint before recovery,
while existing format 1 saves remain compatible. The manifest now accurately
declares automatic saving.
VERSION 1.1.0 - September 13, 2026
Added pan and zoom navigation to the city grid. The right control rail now has
zoom-out, reset and zoom-in controls with a live percentage. Mouse-wheel zoom
holds the lot under the pointer, drag panning works with mouse, pen and touch,
and +, -, and 0 provide keyboard control. Board hit testing follows the
transformed view, while saves and game rules remain unchanged.
VERSION 1.0.10 - September 13, 2026
Added a settlement preview and confirmation step before Call the finish. It
projects final standings after the selected certificate purchase, all closing
prizes and certificate sales. Cancel returns to the market without changing
the game.
VERSION 1.0.9 - September 12, 2026
Made the new-game sheet reversible during play. It now offers Continue current
game, supports Escape to return to the board, and preserves the current state
until Break ground actually starts a replacement game.
VERSION 1.0.8 - September 12, 2026
Added interactive syndicate tracing from the register. Hovering outlines a
syndicate's lots and softens its rivals; clicking locks the trace for planning,
and Escape clears it. Game rules and saved positions remain unchanged.
VERSION 1.0.7 - September 12, 2026
Added market intelligence to every live certificate row: the player's holding
position, the number of certificates needed to take the lead, and the current
gross top-holder prize. Game rules and saved positions remain unchanged.
VERSION 1.0.6 - September 12, 2026
Added a live portfolio summary to the information rail. It separates cash and
certificate value, totals current net worth, and reports the lead or deficit
against the strongest rival. Game rules and saved positions remain unchanged.
VERSION 1.0.5 - September 12, 2026
Replaced the cover with enhanced isometric city artwork showing the six
syndicates, physical land tiles, distinctive district emblems and a merger
boundary. Updated the cover to the required 600 by 900 pixel dimensions.
VERSION 1.0.4 - September 12, 2026
First Tronsoft Games release, packaged to Specification 1.6.2.
Original tile-and-share design: 110 lots, six syndicates, the assay strip and
the transfer slate. Three measured difficulties. Keep and resume.
House layout adopted: information left, board centre, controls right, version
beside the title.
Fixed a locked strip that left the player with no legal move and no control,
an uncounted discard pile, and a narrow-viewport layout that let one rail's
panels overlap another's.
