Tarzan of the Apes
West Africa, 1888. A mutinous crew puts Lord and Lady Greystoke ashore on a coast that is on no chart, and for one hour you play the father: build the cabin, bar the window, hang a latch that opens only from within, and write the last entry in a diary nobody will ever read. Then Kerchak comes through the door, a she-ape who has lost her own baby carries the living child up into the trees, and you play the son for the rest of your life. Learn to read a language you have never heard spoken, take your father's knife out of a drawer under his hand, become king of the apes, and then decide what to say on a porch in Wisconsin when a man you have no reason to help asks you where you came from.
