A Princess of Mars cover

TIFE Adventure · Interactive Fiction · Version 1.0.0

A Princess of Mars

March 1866. A prospector named John Carter takes shelter from Apache rifles in a cave in the Arizona hills, and wakes on the bottom of a dead sea forty-eight million miles away, where his Earth-born muscles make him the strongest thing on a dying world.

A parser adventure in twenty rooms across five regions, adapted from the 1912 novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, which is in the public domain. Cross the sea bottom with the horde of Thark; earn a calot and a thoat by the one method nobody on Barsoom has tried; take a chieftain's metal in the arena of Korad; cut a Princess of Helium loose and ride north; fight a white ape in the pits of Warhoon; and stop a wedding in Zodanga before a treaty sells a fleet.

The signature mechanic is THINK. Barsoomians are telepathic and cannot close their minds to one another, and they have no defence at all against a mind from Earth. Nine minds can be read across the game, and the ninth is the only key to the last door in it.
