Ironmask
Ironmask is a duel of two marcher houses on a ten by ten field. Each side deploys forty companies with every rank turned away from the enemy, and wins by walking a company onto the other house’s standard. Rank alone decides a strike, so the whole game is a problem of reading: what a counter has done tells you what it cannot be, and the Dossier keeps that account for you, narrowing every enemy company to a band and printing the band on the counter itself. The machine opponent reads the field through the same papers and can never see a rank you have not shown it.
