Circus Maximus

Two games on one circuit. In the chariot race, eight teams run three laps of the Circus Maximus: you choose the horses, the driver’s skills and the car, then write a secret tablet each turn — a speed inside your legal band, a line to take at the meta, the whip, and a tactic against the man beside you. All eight tablets are revealed and resolved together over twelve impulses. In the gladiatorial bout, two men manoeuvre on a five-band reach gauge where every armature has a minimum reach as well as a maximum, and a beaten man appeals to the editor. A season of races ties them together, with a stable to keep and a betting book to raise money from. This release is solo-only: one human player races against computer drivers and fights computer opponents.
